The KTM Intercity train service is operated from Level 2 of KL Sentral Station‘s Transit Concourse. The KTM Intercity and the KTM Komuter are operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB), the national railway operator of Malaysia. As part of the Trans-Asian Railway, the KTM Intercity of KTMB, which operates from KL Sentral Station, Kuala Lumpu Malaysia, links up Singapore in the south and Thailand in the north.

Most of the KTM Intercity services are operated from Kl Sentral Station Kuala Lumpur to all major towns along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. A few operate along the east coast line between Tumpat and Gemas in Johor and on to Singapore in the south. The Intercity rail service serves all the key towns in Malaysia.

Express Trains: This cater for the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur -Butterworth route and would only stop over in major stations.

Shuttle Trains: This is the East Coast line that serve all stations and halts. There is a shuttle service between Johor Bharu and Singapore.

Please check detailed information about KTMB’s KTM Intercity here.

The old iconic colonial style Kuala Lumpur Railway Station used to serve the KTMB’s KTM Intercity rail service and the service has now transfered to KL Sentral since 2001. However, the KTM Komuter and Pos Malaysia mail trains are still using the old KL Railway Station.
