About MIDA
The Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) is the principal Malaysian government agency for the promotion and support of the manufacturing and services sectors in Malaysia.
The MIDA ensures the successful implementation of projects by the manufacturing and services sectors.
The services provided by MIDA are as follows:
To provide information on the opportunities for investments.
To assist companies which are looking for joint venture partners.
To assists companies interested in venturing abroad for business opportunities.
There are senior representatives from key government agencies to station at MIDA’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur to advise investors on government policies and procedures.
These representatives are from the Department of Labour, Immigration Department, Royal Malaysian Customs, Department of Environment, Tenaga Nasional Berhad and Telekom Malaysia Berhad.
For projects in the manufacturing and its related services sectors, MIDA would evaluate and support the following applications::
Manufacturing licenses
Tax incentives
Expatriate posts
Duty exemptions on raw materials, components, machinery and equipment
Investors can discuss their project interests with MIDA officers at MIDA’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur or at its overseas or state offices.
The Investors’ Guide section will provide information on investment. MIDA’s Business Information Centre (BIC) would provide published information on investment, trade, financing, productivity of the manufacturing and services sectors.
